To make sure that they monitor the use of water properly they conduct surveys and collect and analyze water samples to regulate changes in water supply and quality. The main task of a water use specialist is to ensure communities receive enough water and that the water supply is safe for use. These individuals also create proposals to increase water availability in areas that are lacking.
Water use specialists can also get involved in the investigation of water problems in given areas. They investigate issues such as pollution or other issues that could affect the health of the water.
These specialists work in a variety of settings like the laboratory, office, or field. They sometimes spend a lot of time outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
